Living in the area basically most of my life i pretty much had just one ob./gyn doctor .( i had my children at twenty and had my tubes tied by late twenties ) All my years with my ob/gyn Dr.were mostly routine visits with a few little problems here and there . A year or so ago, my Doctor retired . I began seeing another Doctor in the practice .
To me a ob/gyn doctor is the most important DR. to a woman. You go through so many different changes in dealing with woman's issues and concerns and many being very difficult topics .My DR is very important to me and to know that he understands me ,has patience with me ,and knows my medical history is a priority to me .
Then my GYN medical crisis happened. My DR told me he didnt do the surgery that i needed and referred me to another DR. in the practice that could possibly do the surgery well with in 2 minutes of conversation i knew in my heart that HE wasn't the DR. for me ,I didnt feel comfortable nor wanted that DR doing a partial hysterectomy on me ,,TRUST YOU INSTINCTS.. i was devastated ...couldnt believe that in a time of a medical crisis and i was very ill , lost alot of blood, that i had to search for a new ob/gyn DR. I was sick over This thought , I knew what i needed in a DR,NEW WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR BUT WOULD I FIND THIS DR. I new i wasnt well and didnt have much time to search but i was on a journey ,, I WASNT SEETLING FOR ANY DR TO DO THIS MAJOR SURGERY ON ME ,I was given a few names in the surrounding areas . Many kepT giving me the same name DR. OKEEFE.. I did my research , I questioned people from the clerical workers at the hospital, to nurses ,to friends, to friends of friends ,to a close friend that is involved in the ovarian cancer foundation ( she even knew him )..to anyone i could ask do you know this DR. Okeefe? To people on internet and facebook in the area ,,I would ask a million questions about him and his personality , does he have a sense of humor ? very important to me , its part of my personality and i know I FEEL MORE RELAXED WITH A DR IF FEEL COMFORTABLE..I knew i needed major GYN surgery , I knew I was going to be in pain, I knew this DR would do the surgery at a hospital i never been to before ,I was very nervous about this also , ( i had been in other hospitals in the area ), so i really wanted to research before i went to the appointment .(I did have other dr>appts scheduled for the following days ). I went to my appointment... full of many different emotions, i was scared , I am the biggest baby i still get pediatric neeedles when blood in drawn , i cant take pain , i wasnt very happy about going to a different hospital , i was very nervous that a stranger was going to do such a big surgery on me and i didnt know him ..i was sick over all of this ;;.
From the moment I met DR. okeefe HE was so calmimg, comforting, i was able to explain everything without feeling rushed, i knew by what he was asking me and how he explained things the ... [<a href='read.php?taid=9170'>more..</a>]
