Dr. Johnrose-Brown not only practices family medicine, but also specializes in weight loss. As one of her patients for that purpose, I can say she has always treated me with respect, which has not always been the case. Most doctors tend to look down on obese patients, while she seems to understand the difficulties of it, and works with you on both a physical and an emotional/mental level. She takes the time to listen to what is going on during your appt, and where you had difficulty with the program thru the week, and offers suggestions to help where you are struggling. She does use the optifast program, and follows you very closely while on it. This has been the first time I have been successful in losing any weight and keeping it off. While I have a long way still to go, I know I can continue on the path with her encouragement, I no longer feel my weight is a useless struggle that will be the cause of my death.
