Dr. Drake is fabulous! My OBGYN sent me to Dr. Drake for a second opinion regarding my hysterectomy and the growth that was discovered in one of my ovaries. Because of some of its qualities, my OBGYN felt it could possibly be cancerous.
I was a bit of a nervous wreck during my initial appointment with him. I'm not the best patient in the world, because I've got a vivid imagination that runs a bit amok at times. But, he was very reassuring, not condescending (very important to me), and took the time to answer my questions and discuss options.
Dr. Drake really knows his stuff ... so much so that I trust anything he advised me regarding my condition and surgery.
He performed the la DaVinci robotic assisted hysterectomy on me on Oct 10, 2013. I have not experienced many of the after-effects that many of my peers on hystersisters.com have, including the severe gas pains. He took excellent care of me and discovered that the growths had not turned cancerous yet. If I had not have trusted him upon our initial meeting, I would still be walking around with those growths inside of me.
I cannot speak highly enough of this doctor. He's completely brilliant and excellent. He's one of those young doctors who is a phenomenon, and his bedside manner is wonderful. He's light-hearted and has a wonderful sense of humor. He really cares about his patients AND their families. My family loved him (almost as much as I do!)
Dr. Drake saved my life. I will forever be his friend, and I'm eternally grateful.
By the way, this doctor now practices Gynecological Oncology in The Woodlands, Texas where I was treated.
