I started seeing Dr. Tam a couple years ago for routine gynecological exams and irregular pap follow up. At a visit in Fall 2013, she asked if I had a history of breast cancer in my family, and when I said yes, she recommended I take a genetic test to determine if I had a predisposition to breast and ovarian cancers. When I came back with a positive BRCA1 mutation, she worked with me to decide what preventative options were best for me. I decided to have a complete hysterectomy, which she did using the da Vinci robotic procedure. The surgery went smoothly, and she has been available night and day to answer my questions and address my concerns. I have recommended several of my friends to her because I believe she truly cares about her patients, and her standards are beyond excellent.
