I was treated by Dr. Chang for Pilonidal Cysts. She is technically accomplished and performed the operation without a hitch. She is also committed to educating patients about their conditions. She very patiently explained, often via diagrams, the specific nature and challenges of my operation and healing process. But what makes her truly distinctive is her concern for patients. It took me a rather long time to heal fully. This necessitated monthly visits for close to a year. Dr. Chang was caring, gentle and kind. It was clear from her words and actions that she was saddened by any (unavoidable) discomfort I had to endure. When I was fully healed, she expressed sincere pleasure that I would not have to suffer any further discomfort. Her warmth made me sorry that I would no longer need to visit her. I recommend her to anyone needing general surgery. I will also add that she has fellowship training in laparoscopy, although the nature of my operation made it impossible to use these techniques.
