I have known Musa and some of the other doctors in the practice she is in (Mary Jane Minkin and Tom Hanson are a couple of them) for 15-20 years. I was a maternity nurse at Yale-New Haven hospital when she was an intern and through her residency. Watching her handle patients in crisis (mostly women in labor and delivery and in the high risk maternity unit) with calm, patience and kindness convinced me that she would be a great physician. I knew I wanted her to be my doctor, and she has been now for many, many years. She has supported me through a horrific perimenopause up to my hysterectomy in 2005, and continues to now through other problems that I never thought would crop up. She is still patient, kind, never in a hurry or rushing. She answers all questions as thoroughly as possible and gives all the information one needs to be able to make an informed decision. Her touch is confident, gentle and reassuring. The office staff is pleasant and efficient. Sometimes there is a wait, but for the most part they keep their appointments fairly close to on time.
The practice specializes in menopause. Dr. Minkin wrote a book on Menopause titled, "A Woman's Guide to Menopause and Perimenopause", a great book. I highly suggest any of the doctors in this practice for obstetrics as well as gynecology. As a former women's health nurse, I cannot say enough about the treatment and care they give patients.
