I highly recommend Dr. Doggweiler to any patient that thinks she/he has Interstitial Cystitis and needs diagnosis and treatment. I was a patient when Dr. Doggweiler practiced in Memphis and now drive more than 6 hours to see her in Knoxville. (Thankfully, my symptoms are in near remission and only have to go once a year.) Dr. Doggweiler is well worth the long drive. She listens to her patients and is extremely compassionate. She didn't put me through any unnecessary tests and was able to diagnose me when 4 other doctors couldn't. She also lets me be a partner in my treatment and together we have come up with a combination of medicines that keep me feeling well. My symptoms are very mild now and mostly I can forget that I have IC. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Doggweiler and wish she could move back closer to where I live.

Dr. Payne of Stanford is wonderful. His practice is focused on female urology and thus treats many with this illness. As a teaching hospital, he gets trials of new treatments as well as all the ones currently in use. He has a great chairside manner as well, cares very much to find a treatment to help the patient (which he has for me!)

Dr. Stewart has been my OB/GYN for over 10 years. I have recommended all of my friends to him and they all love him. He delivered both of my children, has performed three surgeries on my including my complete hysterectomy. I would not go to another OB/GYN.
Dr. Stewart has a wonderful disposition, is cheerful, and always friendly. I don't he could improve anymore.

I have been Dr. Hughes patient for the past 5 1/2 years since I developed GBS in 2001. He has been unfailing kind, respectful, caring and open about options for treatment regarding chronic pain from peripheral nerve damage. He has never shown impatience when I did not agree with proposed changes to the regimen and has a number of times tried treatments that I suggested. I've never had an interaction with him that demeaned me despite my known history of depression. He seems young but has children almost ready for highschool, but is upbeat and energetic. He keeps up to date with new medications and is willing to use those without serious adverse effects. He was willing to treat depression problems but when I reached a point that his solutions did not seem to be enough to get me past some dysfunctional grief, he recommended psychiatric followup, but did not press it on me.

If you live in the Richmond, VA area and, like me, suffer from Interstitial Cystitis, I would highly recommend Dr. Lonny Green With The Virginia Women's Center ((804)288-4084. After a horrible experience with a Dr. Delisio at Virginia Urology (Please take my advice and stay away from Virginia Urology!) I was given Dr. Lonny Green's name by the Interstitial Cystistis Association. I found him to be very knowledgeable. He actually took the time to talk to me about my condition and suggested therapies. Unlike many physicians I've encountered, Dr. Green actually believes in the benefits of natural herbal products, another thing I really liked about him. Informative, compassionate, knowledgeable - all attributes Dr. Lonny Green has.

Dr. Mark Liker treated my husband, Lewis, for his back problems. He had 2 previous back fusion surgeries, with different doctors,that had all failed. Dr. Liker did the third and final one and it was successful, and Lew was pain free for the first time in many years. Dr. Liker is not only a great and experienced surgeon but a very compassionate and caring person. I would recommend him to any and all who are looking for a very knowledgeable and competent surgeon.

After three different physicians, Doctor Connelly is the first doctor who's actually been confident enough to diagnose and treat my Interstial Cystitis. I have been happy with her attentiveness, thoroughness, and general bedside manner. She has been very responsive to answering my many questions, and open to many treatment options.
My only frustration was that it took over a month to get my initial appointment. However, I have been able to see her almost monthly since.

Dr. Kwellar is a wonderful doctor. I have been a patient of his for 15 years. He is very patient oriented. He cares deeply about his patients and follows through with you after tests are run. He spends as much time with you as you like so you don't feel rushed. His nursing staff is also excellent.
Dr. Meaney is a kind compassionate knowlegeable urologist who diagnosed and has treated my interstitial cystitis for the past 6 years. I was at the breaking point, unable to find a diagnois and in a lot of pain when I found Dr. Meaney. Dr. Meaney is associated with Urology San Antonio http://www.urologysanantonio.com/meaney.html , a large urology practice here in San Antonio. This doctor has always been on the cutting edge of proven and new treatments for IC, and willing to listen to my concerns and try anything that might be in the realm of IC symptom relief, including holistic and non-prescription approachs. Dr. Meaney has a beautiful 'bedside manner" and you will soon feel as if she were a sister or good friend. She listens to you, is never patronizing or condescending and takes the time to make sure you are well informed. I was always having some problems and Dr. Hanson found the cause. I had IC. He has diagnosed me and prescribed all my treatments. He is very well informed and has been supportive every step of the way. I would recommend him to any women with unexplained problems. He will find the cause and help you better understand your body.

Dr. G comes with my highest recommendations! I was referred to him by a family member and had to travel 2 hours to his offices. I do not regret the commute one bit and would recommend Dr. G to anyone with knee or shoulder problems. Living in the middle of Montana I didn't have high expectations of finding a top notch GYN. Dr. Rauh proved to be a blessing who I would have expected to find in the "big city". After years of going of being unsuccesfully treated by several urologists for severe pain, he finally diagnosed me with interstitial cystitis. I know of other people that have lived with tremendous pain for years and found no relief until Dr. Shay diagnosed and treated them.
He is professional, compasionate and seems to understand the frustration of patients that have been misdiagnosed for long periods of time.
I have, and will continue, to recommend Dr. Shay to others.
