Dr. Baker did my TAH. He was easy to talk to and accessible. I felt, going into the surgery, that I was well informed about the procedure and what to expect the first few days Post Op.
I am impressed with Dr. Baker's way with patients and with his skill as a surgeon. I had a long incision, but it was neatly secured and has not been particularly uncomfortable. I was told there was very little bleeding with my surgery.
The office is also managed well. I have not had to endure long wait times before my appointments and nursing staff has been really good about addressing questions and concerns.

Dr. Shawl is wonderful. I never thought I would find a doctor I would feel this comfortable with. He is a caring man and a great doctor. A friend recommended him but I already had a doctor and did not want to switch mid pregnancy. I wasn't his patient when I delivered my babies but he was an associate of the my doctor. He helped me through the toughest time of my life after my second child was born. Although I wasn't his patient yet he still had me come in, evaluated me, talked to me, treated me, and even called me at home several times without being asked to. He saved my life and restored my faith in doctors. I am lucky to be his patient.
I had a complete Da Vinci Hysterectomy and oophorectomy on 10/23/2008. My surgery was very complicated (for a variety of reasons) and I don't think any other surgeon could have done as well as Dr. Zurawin.
He does have the typical arrogance/God complex of most truly great surgeons but he is amazingly technically competent which I feel is more important.

Dr. DeGeest is treating my mother for her Stage IV cancer. I would say that he is the most experience and intelligent member of the GynOnc staff at University of Iowa Hospitals. If we had to have the same doctor everytime we went to Iowa City, we would want him. However, you should know that he has a horrible bedside manner. He is condescending, borderline rude, and says things that will make your jaw drop. (We have also heard stories from other patients as well... we aren't alone in this type of encounter with him). We have also noticed that he doesn't like it when you ask too many questions. He's an amazing oncologist, but be prepared for his attitude.

I was sent to Dr. Mansuria by my OB/GYN for an evaluation of my pelvic pain. His history was very thorough and his exam was very telling. He explained his exam to me before he did it and I could tell it was very detailed. After the exam he sat down with me and my boyfriend and explained his findings and ALL the treatment options. He also discussed the risks and benefits of each option. He does not push surgery on you like other doctors. We tried medicines to fix my pain but it didn't wotk. I then decided to have surgery and it was the best decision of my life. He is an amazing laparoscopic surgeon and I've never felt better. I cannot thank him enough.

Dr.Tolan is one of the very few doctors that I would recommend to anyone. He truely cares and wants to help you find out thats wrong. He seems very experienced and seems like he knows what he's talking about. The waiting time was very little. The office and overall location was very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Go to this doctor if you want answers and great service.
Doctor Adcock has a wonderful bedside manner and truly loves and cares for his patients. I will not leave this practice!!! He has been supportive through depression, unexpected pregnancies and just life! I highly recommend him and any member in his practice. They are all men of excellent character.

Dr. Hammett has made herself available to me and my family throughout years of care as our family physician. Her explanations of symptoms and potential outcomes are clear yet sensitively worded. She has a wonderful file of specialists for referral that know her and appreciate her expertise. She has supported us through broken bones, heart attacks and Alzheimer's as well as the usual flu shots, annual physicals and coughs. Dr. Hammett is a gem.

She was AWESOME with me! She gave me my options in a very frank and human way. She did not judge me and my preferences and worked with me to find a way for my wants and needs to mesh in a healthy way. No other doctor has even considered that. I would recommend her for anyone especially if you're sensitive about a problem or feel that others might judge you.
Her office staff was great as well. They worked with me on scheduling and rescheduling and were very understanding and flexible. Kudos to everyone!
Dr Assimos is a great resource if you need a urologist with experience treating kidney stones and recurrent kidney infections. He has a great personality and takes the time to discuss your condition and answers questions about what you don't understand. He is not the type of doctor that will perform surgery or other invasive procedure unless it's the most beneficial option for the patient, and he will always let the patient make an informed decision about his/her treatment options. The office setting that he practices in is very efficient and professional, and the entire staff makes you feel comfortable anytime you are there. I would recommend Dr. Assimos to anyone that battles kidney stones on a recurring basis.
After several months of severe "female" problems that my general physician was unable to cure, she recommended I find a gyno. I found Dr. Bianchi in my health insurance book. After hours (literally) of calling several dr.s listed, his office (thank you Norma!!!) was the only one who listened and actually heard the pain in my voice, at this point I was going on almost 5 weeks of bleeding off and on, mostly on. Upon first walking in the office I was greeted like an old friend, a true warm welcoming. I was barely able to walk at this point and they girls in the office were extremely accomodating. My first impression of Dr. Bianchi was overwhelming. He was extremely compassionate and made me feel like I was his main and only importance. He instantly assured me I was going to be alright, even though I was going to need surgery right away. Dr. Smiley is very sweet, compassionate, friendly, and has concern for her patients and their families. She always asks how my girls are doing when I have an appointment with her, and remembers that my oldest daughter has a medical condition herself and wants to know how she is doing.
She performed the removal of my ovarian cancer cells. After the surgery was over, she went to my room to talk to my husband and my two girls, but they were not in the room. So, she searched for them, and found them in the cafeteria. I have never heard of a doctor being that caring and courteous!
She is easy to talk to about your concerns, and she answers any questions you might have in a way that the average person understands (not just a lot of medical talk).
Her nurses are also very sweet - just like her. Dr. Smiley and her nurses always make an unpleasant experience pleasant.

The reason I recommend Dr. Rosenblum is that he show lots of concern about his patients. He is all ears at listing to your problems, and wants to help solve problems as quickly as possible. He is one of the BEST PM&R doctors around!!!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Zahner's for about 10+ years. She has delivered all 3 of my children. Dr. Zahner has treated me for CIN III of the cervix as well as performed my recent hysterectomy.
The staff in her office have always made me feel like family. No matter the time or day I am always able to get a hold of Dr. Zahner for questions or concerns. She gives 1st class care for her patients.

Dr. Muntz was my shinning star in a very dark time. I was suspected of having ovarian cancer. I found Dr. Muntz on the net and booked a consultation. I was so impressed with his caring and gentle nature. It makes all the difference when your in that state of mind. He is very knowledgeable and doesn't mind taking a little extra time to explain things. My surgery was flawless and thank God I didn't have cancer. He was careful to biopsy any surrounding areas to be certain.
I would highly recommend Dr. Muntz to anyone with a questionable cancer diagnosis.

Dr. Merchia figured out the source of my problems almost immediately, which was a great relief! Her performed my hysterectomy as well. He has a great bedside manner, is easy to ask questions and the nurses at the hospital were fantastic as well.
