When I first met Dr. Geer I was at the end of my rope, (9 previous surgeries for endometriosis and 3 cysts removed already). I knew I needed a hysterectomy, but I am 39 years old and have never been married and have no children! So, for reasons I'm sure you are all aware of, I did not want a hysterectomy. I knew it was time to have one, the pain and suffering had just become too much to handle. Dr. Geer was so sweet, so wonderful, really the most skillful with his bedside manner. He let me cry until I thought my eyes would dry out. He really went out of his way to make me feel like I was his only patient and that I really matter. I can not recomend him enough! He his wonderful.

I would just like to say that if you are at your wits end - then this is definately the doctor to see. Before meeting Dr. Perry, Dr. Childs, and their wonderful staff, I had been to 4 different doctors and even hospitalized for 'unknown symptoms' that no one could ever figure out. I had even been told that sometimes women just hurt! I lived like this for over 2 years until Dr. Perry told me first of all that I wasn't 'crazy' and that I really did have some problems.(For the record - my problems included IBS, tipped uterus, Interstial Cystitis, and pelvic congestion syndrome.) I have been with Dr. Perry and Dr. Childs for almost 3 years and it is absolutely amazing at the difference in my quality of life. I had to have surgery due to a tumor on my appendix and a tipped uterus, but that was only the begining. Dr. Perry prayed with me before the surgery, checked on me twice before I left the hospital, he and his staff sent me a get-well card, and Dr. Perry called me the next day at home ... [More..]

Dr. Smithing removed a grapefruit-sized cyst from my stomach, and gave me a hysterectomy. He's been my main provider while going through menopause while I also dealt with hypothyroidism and Celiac Sprue. Since these three health issues share many symptoms, it takes patience to sort out which health problem is the cause of which symptom, and/or when it is a combination. Dr. Smithing gives me a Follical Stimulating Hormone (FSH) test when I request it, which I place more importance on than the common estradiol test. The estradiol test shows much estrogen is in the body; an FSH test determines how much estrogen reaches the patient's brain to take care of problems with focus, memory, and emotions. Dr. Smithing understands that just because a woman's FSH test reads within the accepted range, what is appropriate for her may be at the higher or lower level of the acceptable range (a midpoint reading was not correct for me). I have Interstitial Cystitis. After having UTIs every 6 months for 5 years, I came back negative for an infection, but they put me on antibiotics anyway, thinking it might be too early to tell. The third time I went back, I had a femal doctor who referred me to Dr. Katske, a local urologist, thinking I had urethritis and needed my urethra stretched. Unfortunately, that was right before I went to visit my parents for a month. When I came back, I waas involved in a summer program basically from 9am-5pm almost every day. I was drinking 100% pure cranberry juice and eating half a grapefruit a day, because that's what you do when you have a UTI. I was in the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. I reached my breaking point and called them, and received an appointment for two days later. What I remember most was when I was talking with the receptionist, she mentioned that I could have an appointment in two days, or in a month. He is a gynecological oncologist. He performed two laparoscopic surgeries on me to remove ovarian cysts and scar tissue. He came highly recommended by my gynecologist and fellow patients of his. Before my surgeries, he was very thorough in his testing to anticipate any problems. Both procedures went just as planned. His staff worked to get my surgery moved up when I was having discomfort, which I greatly appreciated. Also, they called me 3 days after my surgery to check on me. Highly recommend!

Dr. Mairs did my hysterectomy as well as other repairs. What impressed me the most was the way he really listened to what I said. For example: I told him my Mother had a bleeding problem with her hysterectomy(despite the fact that the lab tested her and said she would not be a bleeding risk) and was since considered a "bleeder." (In other words any time she has surgery she may need a blood transfusion.) Dr. Mairs had two units of blood ready in the O.R., just in case I followed her pattern. (I too tested fine with the lab) thankfully I did not need the blood during surgery. But, at least it was there. Unlike my Mother's surgery. (She nearly died waiting for her blood transfusion). Another example I will share (of many) is that whenever I had any problems or questions. (Even after the doctor's office had closed). I called the Doctor's office. Dr. Mairs has an answering service. Doctor Virgin has been my and my families doctor for over 6 years. She is so caring and thorough. She will always go the extra to find out what the problem is. Dr Nguyen and her Women's Health Group are obgyn's but also specialize in menopause. I have gone to Dr Nguyen over the years with my menopausal symptoms and she is current on all treatments, no old school treatments that "one pill for all". I also had fibroids and abdominal pain and she recommended a partial hysterectomy and it was the best thing I ever did. I feel 10 years younger with as much energy!

Dr. Charbonneau and Dr. Borcher's are absolutly amazing at the work and care that they provide. The care I received before and after my surgery have been incredible, I can not recommend them to enough people. The time and care that was put into not just me but providing information and knowledge to my husband showed how much they really care. They have been there all the way prior to surgeyr and following iwht complications I had to now where I know that I will never see anyone else. I have never meet any Physician that takes the time needed to ensure that all parties involved understand what is happening and explain what will be happening, my husband even now feels that he has his own set of Gynocologists :)
Dr. Senofsky has performed several biopsies and lumpectomies on me and his caring way with his patients makes the whole ordeal of dealing with cancer bearable. He takes the patient through all the steps and makes them feel comfortable and relieves the tension. He is a GREAT surgeon and competent is ensuring that his surgery is going to remove the cancer. He is #1 in my book.

Dr. Lali Reddy performed my hysterectomy several years ago. She was so very caring while I was in the hospital following the surgery that she performed. Following the surgery she explained everything to my husband and when I woke up she was there to explain everything to me and ensure I understood everything. When she would come each day to visit me she would give me a hug when she left and was very positive to me regarding my progress in recovering. All my follow appts. with her at the office were just as friendly and caring.

I had gone to doctors for over 3 years with my symptoms, including the top hospital in the Chicago area ( Northwestern) and had been told that it was all in my head. My manager at work (a man) referred me to Dr. Boatwright. She not only listened to me but found what my problem was, endometriosis (sp). I sat on her table and cried like a baby, just relieved that somebody was actually validating that there was indeed something wrong with me. She did my hysterectomy and I have been pain free ever since. She is a wonderful doctor and I would recomend her to any woman.

Dr Mueller is one of the most caring doctors I have ever encountered. I have been going to him for over 5 years now. He always listens, truely listens. Throughout the entire hysterectomy process he was wonderful. He always had time to answer all my questions. He has called me at home with test results. No one could go wrong by using Dr Mueller.

Dr Hays is one of several OB/GYNS in the practice I go to. I have been going there for about 10 years and I've been seeing her for about 6 years. She is always considerate and friendly. She never makes me feel rushed. She always has time for my questions and my phone calls. I have been having a lot of menstural problems for a few years. She has worked with me to try and solve my problems. When she realized that I had some issues that might be better taken care of by another doctor she sent me to the other doctor (who'll be performing surgery on me soon). I look forward to continuing my regular visits with Dr Hays after my recovery from this surgery.
